EJY Fashion Alert!

Hey fashion folks! Since I was a child I've always been fascinated with fashion. All kinds of fashion whether it be clothing, automobiles, furniture, gadgets, anything. I love to watch the ebb and flow of style. It makes me happy to see creativity regardless of my personal taste. I don't like everything but I do know what I like.

I am a huge fan of Tom Ford. He has a store in NYC that is killer (I went on a daytime shopping trip with Lisa Rinna years ago and we were both nervous walking in) and the store here in Las Vegas is gorgeous. I hope to walk in one day and purchase a few pairs of shoes, some suits and cologne without worrying about the price. But for now I will stick to the cologne. Very masculine and tasteful. He is the epitome of masculine style in my opinion as he continues to make men look and feel like men.

My favorite product today? Neroli Portofino body scrub. It smells delicious and makes your skin feel amazing. Missed out on a man gift for the holidays. Get it. A bit pricey but worth it in the long run. From TomFord.com

Stay tuned for more fashion tips and suggestions. Next up. One of my favs....Paul Smith.

Welcome 2012, Welcome 40th, Welcome New Website!

Happy New Year everyone!

Welcome to the relaunch of my website. It's very exciting and new. I just celebrated my 40th birthday and I'm pleased to report that I am happy, healthy and content. The World has been very kind to me and I'm looking forward to celebrating the next 40 years with a solid foundation of friends and family. I have so much to be thankful for. 2012 will be a great year!

The journey to Las Vegas has been incredibly rewarding. I am currently performing nightly on the Las Vegas Strip in VEGAS! THE SHOW. We are located in the Saxe Theatre at Planet Hollywood's Miracle Mile Shops. If you have plans to come to Vegas anytime soon please be in touch and come check out the show. It is not to be missed. VTS celebrates the history of Las Vegas entertainment and gives me the opportunity to share original characters and vintage Vegas performers including Sammy Davis, Jr. (of course), Louis Prima and believe it or not, Sonny Bono. I'm having a great time and learning so much. Every moment onstage is a delight and I truly love my cast and crew. Thank goodness. Come visit.

So many of my personal goals and dreams have come true over the past year. The decision to leave New York last year was a difficult one. I knew I was taking a risk leaving the Big Apple but something told me that Las Vegas would shine a different light on my personal and professional life. It sure has. I'm a homeowner, a Dad to a new puppy and I have learned so much more about the business of entertainment.

2011 brought some reunions with the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, a visit to Ithaca college to host the A & E Dedication, a terrific journey to Chattanooga, TN and Reno, NV to sing with their respective Symphonies as Sammy Davis, Jr. and I traveled to Key West for vacation and to LA to shop. Yay!!!!

In addition to VTS and my new life here in Vegas I continue to work on other projects.

  • SAMMY & ME, my one man musical, is still being shopped to producers and will hopefully have another life in the next year. The 2010 production at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta was a success and we are hoping to tell the story in several markets including Europe. Be sure to look for updates and check out www.sammyandme.com
  • My debut CD ONCE IN A LIFETIME is on itunes, cdbaby, Amazon and more! It can also be purchased on my site and in person at VTS (personally autographed)! I am currently working on a live production that will showcase the material on the CD and bring the modern arrangements of Sammy's music to a live stage performance. Stay tuned. The pieces of the puzzle are coming together nicely. The creative team I've gathered is fantastic.
  • RAT PACK SYMPHONIC will be performed in Phoenix in April 2012. This show produced by Broadway Pops International is an evening of Frank, Sammy and Dean at their Rat Pack best. Swing on by if you happen to be in Arizona in April 26th, 27th, 28th & 29th 2012

It's going to be a very busy year. I'm currently writing a few new projects and I anticipate going back into the studio to record some new tracks right after the New Year.

I wish everyone the best and I hope to stay connected more often. Please come visit me in Vegas! Can't wait to share with you.

Really!!!???

Maybe someone can help me out. I'm trying to figure out if there is something I should feel other than appalled and disgusted by the story I was told about a patron last week. Apparently, a man walked out of VEGAS! THE SHOW because he was offended by my playing Sonny Bono. He wanted his money back and went to the box office to discuss. He felt that we were being disrespectful and rude to the memory of Sonny by having a man of color, a Black man play him onstage. OK? Really people? Are we that closed off in 2012? I'm gonna chalk it up to Vegas alcoholism. He was probably wasted and his true feelings for Sonny Bono became apparent. This man must really love Sonny Bono because he obviously had no problem with me playing Louis Prima. People are crazy.

Keely

Life comes at you fast. I was just talking to someone about how quickly things can change. Good or bad. Change is....well...constant.

Last week Neil and I decided to get a dog. It was something that we'd been talking about for a very long time and I have been wanting one since I was a child. We looked for a Rhodesian Ridgeback and found one in CA. This new additon to our family has been the biggest reward. I love her....Keely... so much. She is a truly terrific dog. Beautiful, kind and comes from the long traditon of a show family. Her parents were both show dogs.

Obviously this has changed my life on a large scale. It will be awhile before I can "sleep in" as she is a puppy and I do have to return home after the show each night with a sense of urgency.

I love it. It's good change.
